Call for applications for a young photographer
Deadline for 1 March 2010
The „Gemeinnützige Entwicklungszusammenarbeit GmbH (GEZA)", is an Austrian non-profit organisation, based in Vienna and supporting development projects in Africa and Central America. We are currently implementing an HIV-prevention project in South Africa and within it implement also a number of awareness-raising activities in Austria to make African perspectives more known to the Austrian public.
Between June and August 2010, we are planning a photo exhibition portraying township life, perspectives of young people in South Africa and dealing with the topic of HIV/AIDS from an African perspective and in this, also, want to feature a South African artist in the field of photos or visual arts.
We would like to support with this a younger artist, who would
otherwise not have the opportunity to be shown in Europe, but whose
work is of outstanding artistic quality as the selected works will be
shown in a prominent location in Vienna.
We can finance the development of photos, flight incl. a 1-week’s stay
in Austria/Vienna. Around the exhibition there will be PR-work.
Interested artists should contact me at angelika.stadelmann@geza.at until 1 March 2010 by e-mail with a selection of interesting photos linked to the above topic.
