VANSAWESTERNCAPE revived Cape Town's Art Month which began with Art Night on September 4th, 2008. Do good ideas need to be revived? Yes. This project brings together the arts community creating a cosmopolitan identity which is greater than the sum of its parts.It provides a survey of contemporary production for curators and researchers alike. The public were served a large dollop of Installation,performance, photography, video, painting and mixed media leaving them hungry for more.
It created an opportunity for a gallery's specific clientele to visit ''other'' spaces in creative Cape Town.

Many galleries where approached to participate and the result was five galleries with 7 solo shows and 1 group show.If there was more support this event could become a destination Cape Town highlight in the off-peak season.
